If you want smooth, hair-free skin for your wedding, the question is not whether laser hair removal works, but when to start. Laser reduces hair over a course of sessions spaced weeks apart, so starting late is the most common reason brides and grooms are disappointed. Here is a realistic timeline.

Start 8 to 12 months before the wedding

Most people need 6–8 sessions for long-term reduction. Sessions are spaced about 4–6 weeks apart for the face and 6–8 weeks apart for the body, because laser only works on hair in its active growth phase. Six body sessions at 6–8 week intervals take roughly 8–12 months, which is why we suggest starting as soon as the date is fixed.

A sample timeline

  • 10–12 months before: consultation and patch test, then your first session. Your doctor sets the laser for your skin tone and hair type.
  • Months 2–8: regular sessions on schedule. Hair grows back finer and sparser after each one.
  • 2–3 months before: touch-up sessions for areas that need more work, such as the face or underarms.
  • At least 2 weeks before the wedding: your last session, so any redness has fully settled and the skin is calm for pre-bridal facials and photos.

Starting late? What 3–4 months can still do

With three or four months you can usually fit 2–3 sessions, enough for a visible reduction on most areas, though not the full course. Focus on the areas that matter most to you (often underarms, arms and legs), keep to the schedule and continue after the wedding to finish the course.

Which areas to include

Popular bridal combinations are underarms, full arms, full legs, bikini line and the upper lip or chin. A full-body package is usually better value than booking areas one by one. See the laser hair removal page for session prices.

Do's and don'ts during your course

  • Do shave the area the day before each session.
  • Don't wax, thread or pluck between sessions: laser needs the root in place.
  • Do wear sunscreen and avoid tanning. Tanned skin needs gentler settings and can delay sessions.
  • Don't book a session in the same week as a peel or facial on the same area.

Is it safe for Indian skin?

Yes, when the right laser and settings are used under medical supervision. At Paradise Wellness we use the Soprano Titanium by Alma Lasers, which combines three wavelengths with built-in cooling, and our doctors set it for your skin tone, including darker skin. Hormonal conditions such as PCOS can stimulate new growth, so some people need occasional touch-ups.

Plan your bridal timeline

Laser is one part of a wider bridal plan that often includes facials, pigmentation care and anti-ageing treatments timed around your functions.
