What is Thread Lift?
A thread lift uses fine, dissolvable medical threads placed under the skin to lift and reposition sagging tissue. Some threads have tiny cogs that hold the tissue in its new position; others mainly stimulate collagen.
It is a minimally invasive option for people who want a visible lift of the cheeks, jawline or brows without surgery. The threads dissolve over several months, while the collagen they stimulate helps the result last longer.
A thread lift is not a replacement for a surgical face-lift in advanced sagging. Our doctors assess your skin and face shape and may suggest combining threads with fillers, HIFU or skin boosters for a natural result.
How it works
- 01
Plan
The doctor assesses your face and marks the lift vectors.
- 02
Numb
Local anaesthetic is used at the entry points.
- 03
Place threads
Threads are guided under the skin with a fine cannula and gently tightened.
- 04
Settle
Mild swelling settles over a few days as the result softens into place.

Thread Lift FAQs
How long does a thread lift last?
Typically around 12 months, depending on the threads used, your skin and lifestyle. Maintenance with other treatments can help.
Is a thread lift painful?
Local anaesthetic keeps it comfortable. You may feel pressure and tugging, and some tenderness for a few days.
Thread lift or HIFU — which is better?
HIFU tightens gradually with no needles; a thread lift gives a more immediate mechanical lift. They are often combined. Your doctor will suggest what suits your face.
When can I go back to work?
Most people return in 2–3 days once swelling settles, avoiding strenuous activity for two weeks.
