Face laser hair removal at Paradise Wellness
Facial hair is one of the most common reasons clients come to us for laser. Threading the upper lip every two weeks, plucking stray chin hairs or waxing the sideburns can leave the skin sore, bumpy and darker over time. Laser hair reduction replaces that routine with a planned course of short sessions on the Soprano Titanium by Alma Lasers, set by our doctors for your skin tone and hair.
The face is also where hormones show themselves most clearly. Coarse hair on the chin, jawline and neck in women is often linked to PCOS or other hormonal changes, and it tends to behave differently from fine hair on the upper lip or cheeks. That is why every facial plan at Paradise Wellness starts with a doctor’s consultation, not just a patch test.
Facial hair grows on a faster cycle than body hair, so sessions are spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Most clients notice finer, sparser regrowth after the first few sessions. Where hormones are driving growth, occasional maintenance sessions are usually part of the plan. Your doctor reviews your progress at each visit and adjusts the settings as your hair becomes finer, so each session is matched to how your skin and hair are responding. Individual results vary.
Good to know about this area
PCOS and hormonal growth
Laser reduces existing hair well in PCOS, but hormones can activate new follicles over time. Plans often run longer than 6–8 sessions with maintenance afterwards, and your doctor may suggest managing the hormonal cause alongside.
Fine versus coarse hair
Dark, coarse chin hair usually responds faster than fine, light hair on the upper lip or cheeks. Very fine or light vellus hair responds poorly to laser, and your doctor will say so honestly.
Paradoxical hair growth
Rarely, laser on the face and neck can stimulate new, finer hair growth nearby instead of reducing it. It is uncommon, but it is real, so tell us if you notice more hair in or around a treated area.
Pigmentation around the mouth
Years of threading and waxing can darken the skin around the lips and chin. Stopping friction-based hair removal often helps, and settings are adjusted for any existing pigmentation.
Eye protection
Everyone in the room wears protective eyewear. Areas close to the eyes, such as the upper cheek, are treated with extra care.

Face laser FAQs
Is laser hair removal safe for the face?
Yes, when it is done under medical supervision with the right settings. We use the Soprano Titanium, which combines three wavelengths with built-in cooling, and our doctors adjust the settings for your skin tone and hair after a patch test. Protective eyewear is worn throughout, and areas near the eyes are treated with care.
Does laser work on PCOS chin hair?
It usually reduces PCOS-related chin and jawline hair well, especially coarse, dark hair. Because hormones can keep activating new follicles, many clients need more than 6–8 sessions and occasional maintenance afterwards. Your doctor may also suggest seeing a gynaecologist or endocrinologist so the hormonal cause is managed alongside. Individual results vary.
Can laser make facial hair grow more?
In a small number of people, laser on the face or neck can trigger new, finer hair growth near the treated area. This is called paradoxical hypertrichosis. It is rare, but we mention it honestly. If you notice more hair rather than less, tell us and your doctor will review the settings and plan.
How many sessions will my upper lip need?
Most clients need 6–8 sessions, 4–6 weeks apart. Upper lip hair is often finer than chin hair, so a few extra sessions can be needed. Very fine, light hair responds poorly to laser, and your doctor will tell you at consultation how well your hair is likely to respond.
Can I thread or pluck between sessions?
No. Threading, plucking and waxing remove the hair from its root, which the laser needs to target. If hair bothers you between sessions, shaving or trimming is fine. Most clients find they need to shave less as the course goes on.
Can I wear make-up after facial laser?
It is best to keep the skin bare for the rest of the day so it can settle. From the next day, most clients go back to their usual make-up, as long as the skin is not irritated. Use a gentle moisturiser and sunscreen, and avoid scrubs or strong actives for a few days.
