What is Mesobotox (Micro-Botox)?
Mesobotox, also called micro-Botox, uses very small, diluted doses of botulinum toxin placed just under the skin surface rather than deep in the muscle. The aim is not to freeze expression. Instead, it acts on the tiny oil and sweat glands and the fine muscle fibres attached to the skin, which can make skin look smoother and less shiny.
People often consider it for an oily T-zone, open-looking pores, fine crinkly lines, or a lower face and neck that looks less smooth. In Delhi's humid months, oil and shine can be a daily concern, and some people find the skin feels more matte for a while after treatment. Results are subtle and vary. The effect wears off over a few months, so it is repeated if you like the result.
Mesobotox is not a treatment for deep wrinkles, sagging, acne scars or pigmentation. For those, your doctor may suggest standard Botox, Profhilo or skin boosters, MNRF, chemical peels or laser toning. It also does not replace a good daily routine with sunscreen. How is mesobotox different from regular Botox?
Regular Botox is placed deeper into muscles to soften expression lines. Mesobotox uses tiny diluted doses in the skin layer, aiming at oil, pores and fine texture, without stopping facial movement.
Will my face look frozen?
It should not. The doses are small and shallow. You keep normal expression.
How long do results last?
Usually a few months, though this varies. Many people repeat it when they notice oil or texture returning.
Can it treat acne or acne scars?
It is not an acne or scar treatment. Active acne needs medical care first. For scars, your doctor may suggest MNRF, CO2 laser or peels.
Can I combine it with other treatments?
Often, yes. Your doctor may pair it with HydraFacial, skin boosters or peels, with suitable gaps in between.
