What is Sculptra (Collagen Stimulator)?
Sculptra is an injectable made of poly-L-lactic acid. Unlike a hyaluronic acid filler, it does not give instant fullness. Instead, it gently prompts your skin to build its own collagen over time. It is used to restore volume lost with age or weight change, such as hollow temples, flat cheeks or a tired-looking lower face.
Because it works through your body's own collagen, results appear gradually over several months, and a course of sessions spaced weeks apart is usually needed. Some fullness right after treatment is from the water it is mixed with and fades within days. The final change is subtle and builds slowly. Results vary and depend on age, skin quality and lifestyle.
There are honest limits. Sculptra cannot be dissolved the way hyaluronic acid filler can, so careful planning by an experienced doctor matters. It is not for the lips or the under-eye area, and it does not lift heavy sagging. If you want an instant change, dermal fillers may suit you better; for laxity, HIFU or a thread lift may fit. Massage after treatment, often the 5-5-5 rule, is done only as your doctor advises.

How is Sculptra different from a dermal filler?
Hyaluronic acid fillers add volume straight away. Sculptra works slowly by helping your skin make new collagen, so the change builds over months and looks gradual.
When will I see results?
Initial swelling goes down in a few days. The real change builds over two to three months and beyond as collagen forms. Results vary.
Can Sculptra be dissolved if I do not like it?
No. Unlike hyaluronic acid filler, it cannot be dissolved. This is why careful planning and gradual sessions are used.
What is the 5-5-5 massage rule?
It is a common guide: massage the area for five minutes, five times a day, for five days. Follow your doctor's exact advice, as it can differ for you.
Can Sculptra be used for lips or under the eyes?
