What is Scalp PRP?
Scalp PRP uses platelet-rich plasma prepared from a small sample of your own blood. The blood is spun to concentrate the platelets, which release growth factors that support hair follicles, and the plasma is then placed into thinning areas of the scalp.
It is the classic form of blood-based hair therapy and a shorter course than GFC, usually 3–4 sessions about four weeks apart. The scalp is numbed before treatment so the injections feel comfortable, and most people return to work the same day with only mild tenderness. Hair density and the pattern of hair fall are recorded at the first visit so that changes can be compared honestly as the course goes on.
Scalp PRP is a common choice for a widening parting, diffuse thinning and hair fall after stress.
