What is Under-Eye Fillers?
Under-eye fillers, also called tear trough fillers, place a small amount of soft hyaluronic acid gel in the hollow between the lower eyelid and the cheek. When that groove is deep, it casts a shadow that makes you look tired even after a good night’s sleep. Filling it gently can make the eye area look smoother and more rested.
This is one of the most delicate areas of the face, so the doctor often uses a blunt cannula, very small amounts and a soft product suited to thin skin. It is usually combined with a check of the cheeks, because some under-eye hollowness comes from volume loss in the mid-face and is better treated there.
Under-eye filler helps hollowness. It does not treat puffiness, eye bags, brown pigmentation or thin skin that shows blue veins, and in some of those cases it can make things look worse. Your doctor checks the cause first and may suggest under-eye laser toning, a skin booster such as Lumi Eyes, or no filler at all. Results vary.

How to prepare
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before
- If your doctor agrees, pause aspirin, fish oil and vitamin E for a few days to reduce bruising
- Plan weddings, photos and events at least 2 weeks after
- Tell the doctor about pregnancy, medicines, past filler or cold sores

Will under-eye filler remove my dark circles?
Only if the darkness is a shadow from hollowness. Brown pigmentation, visible veins or puffiness need a different treatment, and the doctor will tell you which applies to you.
Is under-eye filler safe?
