What is Skin Tag, Wart & DPN Removal?
This treatment removes skin tags, warts and DPN (dermatosis papulosa nigra, small dark bumps often seen on the face and neck in Indian skin) with radiofrequency cautery. A fine electrode tip delivers brief, controlled touches of energy to each growth. It differs from our mole removal, which works layer by layer on deeper moles, because these growths sit mostly on the surface and can often be cleared in a single visit.
The doctor first examines every growth and marks the ones that are suitable to remove. Anything that looks unusual, has changed or has bled is referred for a biopsy instead. After numbing cream, or a small local anaesthetic for larger lesions, each growth is treated and leaves a small scab that falls off within 7–10 days.
People often come in when skin tags catch on necklaces and collars, when DPN spreads across the cheeks, or when warts are bothersome. Treated growths usually do not come back, but new ones can appear over time, and warts are caused by a virus, so they sometimes need a repeat session after 3–4 weeks. Results vary, and daily sunscreen helps prevent dark marks while the skin heals.
