What is Mole Removal?
Mole removal at our clinics is for harmless, raised or unwanted moles on the face and body. Harmless moles are removed layer by layer with a CO₂ laser or radiofrequency, which lets the doctor stop as soon as the skin is clear. It differs from skin tag and wart removal, which uses brief cautery touches on small growths, because moles often sit deeper in the skin.
Every mole is examined by the doctor before anything is removed. A mole that has changed in size, shape or colour, itches, bleeds or looks unusual is not removed cosmetically: it is referred for a biopsy so it can be checked properly. After numbing, the mole is treated and a small scab forms that falls off within 7–14 days.
People usually choose mole removal for moles that catch on clothing or jewellery, get nicked while shaving, or that they simply prefer not to have. Most heal with a small, faint mark, and some deeper moles need a second session. Results vary with skin type, depth and aftercare, and sun protection for several months is important for Indian skin, which can develop dark marks as it heals.
How it works
- 01
Doctor examination
The doctor checks each mole and confirms it is suitable to remove.
- 02
Numb & cleanse
Numbing cream or local anaesthetic is used and the area is cleaned.
- 03
Layered removal
The mole is removed layer by layer with CO₂ laser or radiofrequency.
- 04
Protect & heal
Antibiotic cream and a dressing are applied, with aftercare guidance.

Mole Removal FAQs
Will mole removal leave a scar?
Most moles heal with a small, faint mark that fades over a few months with daily sunscreen. Deeper moles and keloid-prone skin carry more risk of a visible mark.
Can every mole be removed?
Only moles the doctor confirms are harmless. Any mole with changes or unusual features is referred for a biopsy instead.
Is mole removal painful?
The area is numbed first, so most people feel only mild warmth or pricking. It may feel tender for a day or two.
Will the mole grow back?
Most do not. Deeper moles sometimes leave some pigment behind, and a second session after about four weeks may be needed.
What does mole removal cost?
See the price guide on this page. The cost depends on the number and size of moles and is confirmed after the doctor’s check.
