What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation performed by the doctor with a sterile surgical blade. Held at a shallow angle, the blade is glided over the skin to lift away the top layer of dead skin cells along with fine, soft facial hair, often called peach fuzz. Unlike our other medi-facials, it uses no suction, peel or device — just a precise hand technique.
The session begins with a cleanse and skin photographs, then the doctor works area by area while gently holding the skin taut. A hydrating gel or cream chosen for your skin is massaged in afterwards, followed by a soothing cream and sunscreen. Skin feels noticeably smoother, and serums and makeup tend to sit more evenly.
It is popular with people whose skin looks dull or rough, and with anyone who wears makeup often. It is not a hair-removal treatment for coarse or dark hair, and fine hair will grow back over a few weeks. It is also not suitable over active acne, as the blade can irritate breakouts — our doctor checks your skin first and may suggest another facial instead. Results vary.

Dermaplaning FAQs
Will my facial hair grow back thicker?
No. Fine facial hair grows back over a few weeks with the same texture; removing it with a blade does not change the hair follicle.
Is dermaplaning suitable for Indian skin?
Yes, it is a physical exfoliation with no heat or light, so it is generally well suited to Indian skin. Daily sunscreen afterwards helps protect against tanning.
Does dermaplaning hurt?
Most people feel only a light scraping or tickling sensation. It is comfortable and no numbing is needed.
Can I combine dermaplaning with another facial?
Often yes. Removing dead skin first can help serums and some facial steps work more evenly; our doctor will advise on a safe combination.
